Smoky Creek Work Weekend and Community Bike Ride

Join us for a weekend of fun! Camping, trail maintenance, and bike riding with friends new and old. Who could ask for more?

Friday: 6:00 pm: Arrive at Hell Gate Campground. This is a first-come first-served campground that will be open to the public. The USFS fee has been waived. Please arrive early to claim your spot! The South Fork Trinity River flows right next to the campground with excellent swimming holes. This is a primitive campground with restroom and trash services but NO potable water. There is also very limited shade. Pop-up canopies are encouraged.

Saturday: Hot water for coffee and tea at 7:30 am, Trail Briefing begins at 9:00 am, Goal to be back at the campground between 1:00 and 5:00 pm (timing depends on the individual volunteer!).

Sunday: Funday! 10:00 am shuttle to the top of Smoky Creek Trail. Route: Smoky Creek Trail, Turn right onto South Fork Trinity River National Recreation Trail to head North, cross the Steel Bridge and Suspension Bridge to Scott Flat Campground, followed by a left turn, following the South Fork Trinity River to Hell Gate Campground to finish the ride.

This event is held in collaboration with Trinity Trail Alliance, Redwood Coast Mountain Bike Association, and Bigfoot Trail Alliance.
