Director of Fire Management

The Watershed Center is excited to begin soliciting applicants for a Director of Fire Management. The person selected for the position will lead the continued development and management of our innovative work in cooperative prescribed fire planning, capacity building, and implementation. This position will be focused on a combination of local, regional and statewide projects.

We’re seeking a passionate prescribed fire practitioner who excels at working with a wide range of partners to coordinate and support our vision of more prescribed fire use throughout Northern California. If you’d like to spend your time: burn planning, developing cooperative agreements, coordinating training opportunities, leading cooperative burns, advising the organization on risk management, fostering partnerships and providing mentorship and technical assistance to a wide range of partner organizations, landowners and fire service agencies, this position is for you!

Field Crew

We typically hire our field crews in the spring. However, occasionally we need additional crew members during the field season. If you are interested in working as part of the field crew, complete an application (linked below) and return it to our office. To submit an Employment Application for our file follow the same instructions as above, except list “FIELD CREW RESUME” in the subject line.
